Eva Green - discography
The record might as well be called "From Love to Music". Why? Everything, starting form the compositions and later on to the interpretations is deep and inspired thanks to the combination of Ivan Linsís output and Eva Greenís expression. When one year ago I listened with all years to the record of Shirley Horn I was wondering whether any Polish artist would interpret his marvelous compositions? Maybe one or two. What I surprise! A real Lins sonbgook. His most famous pieces performer by an excellent Artist.
Who is this Gentleman?
No wonder that Linsí music is full of Latino rhythms. This composer and keyboardist was born in
Rio de Janeiro, but he soon settled in the USA. Thanks to his good knowledge of Brazillian music and moving it to the American world, Lins worked out his own style, willingly followed by others.
He was quickly noticed by Quincy Jones, George Benson, Terence Blanchard, Toots Tielemans, Manhattan Transfer, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Carmen McRae, Nancy Wilson, Patti Austin, Lee Ritenour, Dave Grusin, Sergio Mendes, Take 6. They enriched their repertoires with his compositions, they recorded them, were rewarded with many prizes, including the prestigious Grammy. Few persons remember that the first Linsí hit entitled "Madalena" was performed by Elis Regina.
Well, memory sometimes fails. Today his compositions are almost standards, maybe not the ones that prevail in jam sessions, but equally intriguing. Maybe their absence during jam sessions prevents them from being "killed" by thousands of bad interpretations, "covers" devoid of emotions. Thanks to this they still intrigue with their mysterious land, where only brilliant interpreters may get. Eva Greenís partners are the ones, and she herself is an artist who reaches the core of the music emotions.
